tool manufacturer

I work as a tool maker in the tool department. My work includes the design of tools and their manufacture from start to finish. I make tools for eccentric-shaft presses, press brakes and edging machines, and these tools are used both for prototype orders and also for large series orders. In addition to this, I maintain tools.

I have worked in tool manufacturing my entire career. I already got my first exposure to this work when I was in secondary school, when I got a summer job at the time called Protopaja, where my parents also worked at that time. Maybe the spark was already ignited then, because I ended up at a vocational school to study mechanical engineering. I also completed my internship here and after graduating in 1990, I got a job here in tool manufacturing.

My working day can include many different work phases, such as milling, grinding, using a spark drill, wire sawing, hardening or machining. I mainly work alone, but if necessary I get help from my colleagues. In fact, that's what I enjoy about this job, that I can plan the work schedule myself and work independently. If a problem situation has come up, it has always been possible to move forward, because there are always people in the house with whom problems can be solved together.

In my opinion, the kind of person who can find patience and a long face will do well in this job. If something goes wrong, you just have to be able to try again. On the other hand, when doing precise work, you have to be careful and meticulous. However, with a high-minded attitude, problems can be found in front even bigger.

A good working day is one when there is a lot of work, things have gone smoothly and at the end of the day there is the feeling that I have accomplished a lot.
